Re: What is "Maintenance #3"

HP Latex 360 Printer

#1 twmiller24 8 years ago

New firmware was just installed by an HP tech, and now I'm getting the message on the front panel that the printer needs "Maintenance #3." I can't find this in the user manual or online.

Please advise.

This printer is quickly becoming less and less user-friendly as it ages.

This message means that your printer needs the Service Maintenance Kit 3. You must contact service, and a tech will come in order to apply the maintenance kit to your printer. Here you have more detiled information:

On which model? There are a few internal maintenance parts that it includes. I had to have this done on the L25500 I had. I just paid to have the HP tech come do it and the total for parts and labor was like $450. You can just call up tech support and have them set it up to do. I did find a HP site where I could actually order the parts, they were like $250 I think, but I didn't want to chance messing anything up.

Thanks, and sorry for not being more specific on the model. It's an HP L360. We're scheduling the maintenance.

Hi ElizB.

i'm sorry to hear that. I'll like to try to help you, but i'll need some additional information.

Which country are you from?

When you say "HP refuses to sign paperwork" do you refer to an specific part of the contract?

Are you contacting HP directly or your are doing this through a reseller? In this case which reseller?

Which Machine do you have? Can you provide me your serial number?

If you want, PM me with all the information in the case you don't want to make it public.

Hi Lerouxjul,

As you can see in the document attached below, the expected duration time is 2 hours.

Is it really possible to do it in 2 hours ?

Does these expected durations are well respected by the US technicians ?

The timing on the document are just indicative. the final time depends on the expertize of the technician.

Hello
No, the printer won’t stop working but we encourage to perform the Service Maintenance Kit 3 at approximately 110 ink litters with a HP certified service engineer to maintain your HP Latex printers for maximum productivity and sustained top print quality. The HP recommended maintenance routines are designed to improve printing quality, reduce cost of ownership and unexpected expenses.
I hope this helps
