I have had this issue 2 times now. The Ink status on the printer will show that a cartridge still has 50-80ml of ink remaining, but during printing I notice banding and a color shift. Ill swap out the cartridge that was close to being empty and some color will come back but both times this has happened it has ruined the print head for that color channel. The first time, luckily one of the print heads was still under warranty but I had to purchase the other. I talked to HP about this (while warrantying the head) and was supposed to get an answer on if this was a common issue or not but never heard back. So, my question, is it common for a cartridge to run empty before the printer things it should and ruin a print, and a print head?
