Print Head Breaks

Hi I have hp Latex 335 printer, bought new October 2019. It breaks heads when ever there is jam. I had two heads broken in 3 weeks. We are in high temperature area in South Africa. Due to heat of machine or for any other reason paper edges curls and head stucks there and creates paper jam, that jam breaks heads. It breaks flex circuit on head. In my view this is manufacturing mistake. On heads only that part should be open, where inks come out. other parts of head, where the flex circuit is, must be under plastic cover or any other protection. So it reduce breaks.

But for now any suggestion? How to over come this problem?

My suggestion to HP 1) easy quick solution is to stick flex PCB to head body. So it does not hang out and it can not be easily torn. 2) cover flex PCB with smooth tape. So it does not hang out and it can not be easily torn. 3) on head, flex PCB should be on sides of head and not at the bottom.

I suggest using the edge holders to prevent the paper jam. To prevent the paper jam you need to check which paper settings causes it. If you can't solve the issue, I suggest contacting your support representative.

Hi Daniela, Another gone today. Its a manufacturing defect. Those flex circuits at bottom should be on sides. And must be protected with another plastic cover.

It looks like the paper might fold and you need to adjust the settings, change the media, or check if the printer has a vacuum issue. It is also important that the temperature is 25 degrees and the humidity 50%. In any case, I think it is best to contact support so that they can investigate what could cause the issue.
