Offering protective equipment and printing social distancing signs to support their community

During challenging times, there is no choice but to rise to the occasion, find your creativity, and push forward. And like many businesses during the outbreak, Strategic Factory, based in Owing Mills, Maryland, has pivoted from its traditional model of print, signage, branded apparel, promo products, and marketing to supplying essential businesses with personal protective equipment (PPE) and virus prevention supplies. Scott Stein, VP of Sales explains, “PPE was nearly impossible for our customers to obtain through their traditional channels, so they began asking us for help. We immediately leveraged our existing supply chain to source PPE at a minimum price for our customers, many of which include firefighters, police, and families on military bases. We are also paying for rush shipping on masks, protective overalls, hand sanitizer, and gloves to get supplies into the hands of workers on the frontlines as quickly as possible.”

Additionally, using the HP Latex R series and the HP Latex 360 printers, Strategic Factory is producing critical health-related signage, custom floor graphics to encourage social distancing in stores, large sneeze guards at check-out lines and window clings for restaurants to promote food delivery services. As one client wrote, “You all have been such a great resource in this crazy time. You are truly helping us to protect a lot of people.”

And while Strategic Factory continues to help where needed, CEO Keith Miller believes more can be done for the community and local non-profits providing life-saving services. In April, Strategic Factory launched the Signs of Unity Initiative – a grassroots campaign offering signs with messages of love and support to place in a yard or window to build community during this time. Signs include messages of support and gratitude for healthcare workers, celebrating special occasions like happy birthday and the class of 2020, as well as inspirational quotes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit several Maryland charities including Meals on Wheels, the Red Cross, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and the Humane Society. Strategic Factory is proud to service and strengthen the Maryland business community during this time and aims to be at the forefront of helping companies emerge stronger as the state re-opens its doors.
